Jolly Opiyo, was born in Uganda and is a member of the Acholi tribe. She fled her homeland due to the rise of a dictatorship. Because of the dictatorship, she has lived in several countries. Some of these countries include Kenya, Northern Ireland, and Zambia; however, it was in her current country of residence, Botswana, where she accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior.
She is an ordained Pastor and an evangelist. She has traveled to various countries in Africa (Uganda, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe) teaching and preaching the Word of God and winning souls for Christ. She has received a certificate in Christian counseling, training in prayer, and prophecy through her home church. She currently ministers to police officers in the capital city of Botswana and ministers to women in the women’s prison. Jolly is also a marriage counselor, counsels women and leads women’s prayer groups made up of women from several denominations. A retired high school teacher by profession, Mrs. Opiyo owns two kindergartens, in which she offers free foundational education to orphans and needy children. Her heart's desire is to build schools catering to orphans. By the grace of God, Jolly has also launched a ministry called “Widow’s Love Ministry”. This ministry empowers widows involved, to use their gifts to help nurture children, particularly orphans and children in need, to whom she offers sponsored and free education.
She is a mother of 4 children, prides in her 7 grandchildren, and is following in the footsteps of her late husband, Dr. W.J. Opiyo, who had a heart to see God's kingdom here on earth. Jolly Opiyo seeks to serve others through the spreading of the Gospel and living a life worthy of His calling.
